Members of LLHS are people who are interested in and care about local history.  The support of our members make it possible for us to continue to preserve and protect our history and to continue to make educational activities available for the benefit of the community.

Become a member for as little as $20 per year.

Memberships make a great gift for someone special!

Current LLHS members who wish to increase their benefit level may apply their current membership contribution to the new level.  All memberships are 12 months beginning on the date of your application.

Print out a Membership Application, complete it and mail to LLHS with your check.  You also have the option of bringing your completed application to Bolton Hall Museum during regular hours. We accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards at the museum.

Marshall Valentine Hartranft and his wife, Louise, moved to Tujunga in 1907 and lived on the Lazy Lonesome Ranch.  Marshall was a real estate broker/developer and purchased about 2200 acres of land and began to develop what is now Sunland and Tujunga.  Known as “Marsh” or “Uncle Marsh” or “MV”, Hartranft was a generous man, donating land for churches, clubs, and the cemetery.  Some may have thought less of him, but it was Hartranft, his generosity and his willingness to make improvements to benefit all, we now have a community rich in history.
